Meet the Artist

James H. McCarthy

God called me to perform this art work and instructed me to create something decent, something new, something to stand on, something that helps others. Since 2014, both sketching artwork and studying the Bible have redirected my life's outcomes. I have used art therapy to treat my injuries; the combination of sketching and reading the Word of God removes my troubles, encourages me, and inspires those around me.

God saved me from death in 1994. While it's accurate to say I live with bumps and bruises, it is also true that I have been blessed. You will too, with Cross Art 365.

The story of James H., a Minnesota artist, is one of tragedy, overcoming challenges, and hope.

Suffering from a traumatic brain injury from a boating accident in 1994, his dreams of becoming a professional basketball player were shattered and he was left without his right eye. Despite his physical and emotional limitations that remain challenges to this day, he has made a courageous comeback that has been a light and inspiration to many.

Today, his art has proven to be the best form of therapy. It gives his brain a focus and creative outlet while bringing family members and friends together in faith.
